Lo más llamativo de esta categoría es que el film animado de Disney y Pixar se ha colado entre las 10 películas que optan al premio! Y no sólo eso, UP ha conseguido 5 nominaciones (mejor guión original, mejor film de animación, mejor film, mejor edición de sonido y mejor banda sonora), lo que la convierte en la sexta película con más nominaciones por detrás de Avatar (9), En Tierra Hostil (9), Malditos Bastardos (8), Precious (6) y Up in the Air (6).
